Oyster shell grades suitable for driveways, pathways, and gardens
Dried or Wet ⅜” minus
Commonly called landscape grade, our ⅜” minus comes in both a wet and a dried style. A ⅜” minus grade includes shells that are ⅜” in size and smaller which will include oyster dust and flour. Similar in style to small stones or pea gravel it is ideal for driveways and pathways where traction is desired, but not an overly lumpy feel.
Oyster Shell Flour
Oyster shell flour has a sand-like consistency. It is kiln-dried, light in color, and turns bright white in the sun. The fine grade re-calcifies more quickly, essentially creating a hard, reef-like surface. An excellent choice for top coating your drive or paths as it will result in the smoothest, most even surfaces attainable with shell.
1″ minus
Our 1″ minus grade is going to give a more rustic, oceanic feel to your project. Comprised of shells that have been crushed to 1″ in diameter or smaller this grade has a more large gravel quality to it an may contain some whole shells.
Terrazzo (Tabby) Blend
Our specialty terrazzo blend is ideal for greenscaping, hardscaping, masonry, or adding a bit of flare to your paths. Comprised of whole shells sized 1″-3″ in diameter it adds a costal flair no matter where you are located. Not recommended for sole use on driveways, pathways, or high traffic areas.
